East Stoke war memorial Shrine stands at the entrance to the Churchyard of the redundant St Mary's on the A352. It is constructed of red brick with white stone dressings. The memorial has three recesses. The central recess originally held a 'Michael Angelo figure of the Crucified' described in 'A Short History of East Stoke' by Rev. Hugh Selwyn Taggart M.A. published in 1940. However this has been vandalised at somepoint and now the recess contains a plain black cross and two flower containers. The other recesses contain names and inscriptions.
