Join Us for a Fall Trail Mix in Memory of KTYJ and Optional Hike at Salato Wildlife Trails!

The fall air is crisp - the colorful leaves blanket the autumnal landscape. Won't you join us for a fall event in memory of KTYJ and an optional stroll along the trails at Salato Wildlife Center? We are dedicating this fall trail mix to Kate. She was always in attendance at the trail and paddle mixes and sadly, although she is no longer with us, she is still present in our hearts and souls.

Let's meet at the outdoor pavilion area not far from the parking coordinates provided at 9 a.m. for a quick signing of the log, a few giveaways and photo. We hope to hit the hiking trails by 9:30 a.m. We will have water and some food. Please pack some lunch and something to drink along the trail if you are hiking. Those who cannot hike with us are welcome to just attend the event and sign the log. The hides in the area will be redone so there will be plenty for you to find.

Please note that we will be hiking mainly on the Pea Ridge Trail (trailhead coordinates provided below, FREE OF CHARGE for entering trailhead at this area). Salato does charge an admission fee to the Education Center building and animal exhibit area. Prices are $5 for adults, $3 for youth (age 5-17) and free of charge for children under age 5. Children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Rules of Use for Hiking Trails at the Salato Wildlife Education Center: Open dawn to dusk (may be closed periodically for special events, or for safety); Hike at your own risk; Children must be accompanied by an adult; Stay on marked trails; No pets; If you pack it in, pack it out!; No camping or campfires; No hunting, trapping or fishing; No collecting of plants, animals, artifacts or other materials. Pets are not allowed in the center, on the exhibit path, or on hiking trails. Only fully trained harnessed or leashed service dogs and miniature ponies are allowed at the Salato Center and on the hiking trails.
