Time for a CITO event! I was out at Kuna Caves recently, and it sure seems to attract a lot of litter. Wouldn't it be nice to clean it up a bit and see some friends, too?
The weather will probably be hot at noon, but it's a cool 56° down in the cave.
The cave is a lava tube that extends in both directions and goes from a 20 foot ceiling to a point where you need to army-crawl to get to the next bigger room. No one is required to do that (I certainly won't be)! To get into the cave, there is a several story ladder (with a cage around it) that might be a well-deserved "nope" for some. If it's not for you, we could still use someone outside to haul up trash bags and babysit the logbook. Just bring a camp chair and I will set up an awning for some shade for you.
The dirt road out to the entrance is pretty rough. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended. If you don't have access to one, please say so in your "will attend" log and I'll happily arrange something for you.
Trash bags will be provided. Things for you to bring:
- Water
- Flashlight or head lamp
- Hoodie or long-sleeve shirt
- Gloves
- Dust mask, if you'd like
I look forward to seeing you!
