We are often told (correctly, if somewhat ideologically), that geocaches should take us to somewhere "interesting", and not simply be placed just for the sake of it. The aim of this series is to try and adhere to this ideal by basing caches around details given on an Interpretation Board about the area in which it is situated. By definition, it is hoped that this information will be "interesting", and will help the cacher discover things about the area that would often not be revealed by a traditional cache.
Placed because I discovered pinfolds theroough Geocaching and love that they are a sign of days gone by.

The pound in 1934

The pound more recently
The Pound or pinfold stands at the north end of the village, where the road forks to Tempsford. It measures 21 feet 9 inches square overall, with a 6 feet gateway. Named as a pound on the 1901 OS map, it still substantially complete! It stands three sided and sports an up to date interpretation board. Once on common land it has since 1972 been in the care of the Parish Council. It is of brick construction with round brick coping.
To find the cache, you will need to look at the interpretation board.
There are A sheep.
There are B visible sheep eyes.
The gate has C horizontal bars.
The gate has D vertical bars
The cache is at N 52 09.(A-C) (A+A) (D+A-B) W000 18. (D+A-B) B (B+B)
