This cache is the third in a series I am starting to provide an interactive historical tour of the Village of Westchester in anticipation of the upcoming 100th anniversary of the village in 2026. The goal is to have 100 (or as close to 100 as possible) active geocaches in Westchester that tell a story. For this cache, the location would have been in close proximity to the former I.C.R.R . system. Please enjoy the following historical image and description of the land, courtesy of the Anyone Who Ever Lived In Westchester Facebook group.

View to the northwest from atop the I.C.R.R. overpass
Work begins on the open cut of the north approach to the Roosevelt Rd. station.
Note that the branch has been pulled back and can be seen off in the distance.
At the far left edge of the photo and circled in red, one can view three of the portable garages in a row that are a part of the work camp. These portable and temporary structures housed materials, workers, etc. They appear to be in the area of present-day Worcester/Cromwell and Devonshire Ln. This image provides a sense as to how close laborers lived to the work site.
Entire view modern-day Gladstone Park.
Congrats to PezGremlin for the FTF!
