Welcome to the wilds of Wisconsin, home to the rare and elusive miniature moose. Part of what makes this moose so hard to spot is its size, a “large” adult stands about 2 feet tall, and most are much smaller. There is one way that you can increase your chance of seeing this rare beast, learn the secret moose call. Mrs. book lover learned this rare call many years ago and has shared it with a select few Girl Scouts. Now you too have the opportunity to learn this call. Just click on the Moose below to jump to a youtube tutorial for how to call a moose!

Now that you know the secret moose call, proceed to the coordinates above. This spot is a favorite haunt of the miniature moose. If you don’t see the miniature moose, try the moose call and chances are one will appear. We'd love to see photos of cachers calling the miniature moose!
After finding this cache, return to the groomed trail and hike up the hill to the tower line. If you go west a bit to the top of the hill you will find a great view of the valley below.
Cache is placed with the landowners’ permission. Land is part of the Wisconsin Managed Forest Law Program and is “open” to the public. Open designation allows public access to the property only for hunting, fishing, hiking, sight-seeing and cross-country skiing without additional permission from landowners. The landowners’ grant additional permission to geocachers to search for caches.
A trail map of the property with parking locations can be downloaded here: Link to trail map. Please, do not park on the gravel road.
