Sterling, who have recently taken over from Novartis on this site, maintain this area of woodland and grassland. Only a few years ago there were well maintained football pitches and tennis courts here. These days the area serves the local community as a general recreation area and promotes local biodiversity, particularly species rich grasslands.
I’ve lived 5 minutes drive away for 25 years and have only just discovered its existence. Bentley, who is an aging collie, loves it, it’s mostly flat, has all manner of interesting smells and he can walk round it without getting too worn out. There are no paths marked on my map, but there are paths, loads of them. It’s quite easy to get lost here without really getting lost. All the caches are placed very close to a path, you just have to find the right one.
