Fighting Creek Nature Trail is a short, looping trail just off the Sugarlands Entrance to the park. Take a walk all the way to the back and tell me about that structure...
A note regarding bears: park guides indicate the trail may close at anytime due to occasional black bear activity. You can call the Visitor and Convention Center to check trail availabilty at 865-448-6134 Remember these are WILD animals, don't approach or try to feed them, and don't walk the trail w/ a bucket of chicken either (yes, someone actually did that!) Enjoy the hike, but above all... be safe!
Since most of the hiking caches are up along the AT or deep in Cades Cove, I chose to leave a more family-oriented, day hike type cache for us 'city folk' to enjoy.
Park at the Sugarlands Visitors Center parking lot, if you park on or off the road you will be ticketed and/or towed. So at the visitors center, (take a look around if you wish) then head North to the trail head-- self guided maps are 50¢, but not required to log the cache.
To log this cache travel to the coords above and tell me:
- How many steps in front
- How many steps in back
- How many chimneys

This is a virtual cache only since it is located within the Great Smokey Mts. National Park where physical caches are not permitted.
