Country Store Eagle Scout Geocache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

The Country Store

Hello! If you are reading this, you have either found or are planning to find this geocache. This geocache is one of several I put in for my Eagle Scout project. Along with being a fun experience, this geocache and the other ones I have put down are made to help educate you on the history of the geocaches site and its surrounding area. I hope you enjoy it.

As you may have realized, this particular geocache is about the Country Store. For the most part, the country store doesn’t have an incredibly unique history compared to the other locations, it did get hit by a car in 1955’s which destroyed a section of the entrance. There is a newspaper article detailing that inside the building which I recommend looking at. What’s really unique about the building is the style of it. It is a prime example of the architecture of Rivervale in the 1920’s. A majority of buildings in the town looked just like this one does in the current day, so it’s almost like a window into the past of Rivervale and for that, it is incredibly valuable as a historical record.
