Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge just off an unnamed trail in the southwestern part of the park. Its owners are the staff of the Nature Center. The cache is a camouflage-painted ammo box and is located in an old gravel quarry on the edge of a rabbit warren in an area with high white-tailed deer activity. Expect portions of the trail to be very muddy with shallow running water in spots after heavy rains.

To start, park at coordinates N 32 50.947' W 097 29.432' and head west from the parking area down an old gravel road. An alternate parking location is N 32 50.825' W 097 29.102'. This parking spot is closer to the cache, but there may be a locked gate in your way. Do not worry about the signs that say "Restricted Area" - you will not get into trouble as we are getting ready to open that area to the general public soon.

Please stay on the trail until you are very near the cache - we want to leave the wildlife as undisturbed as possible and avoid making new, unauthorized trails. There is a fee to enter the Nature Center - $4.00 adults, $3.00 seniors age 65+, $2.00 children ages 3-17. The gates close and are locked at 5:00 p.m. each day except during May-September when the gates close at 7:00. Happy Caching!
