EASY PARK-AND-GRAB TRAVEL BUG (TB) HOTEL - BY THE LAKE! Come visit the new Haywood County Visitor Center which opened July, 2023. Visitors can find all sorts of information about the area, the nearby lake Junaluska attractions and can purchase parking passes to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The center will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Seconds off Interstate-74 (onto 19/Dellwood City Road) and for those working on county challenges, or rest area/visitor center challenges, this is in Haywood County. We decided that since there aren't any Travel Bug hotels in the area, this would be a great place to hide one.
This “hotel” sports plentiful parking, a picnic table for lunch, restrooms close by and a super-easy, super-flat, super-short walk to the GZ. We do have permission from the “Assembly” to place the cache.
The container is small, so please only leave travel bugs, no swag.
Also please remember to "drop" and "retrieve" travel bugs through the geocache app.
For those new to travel bugs, here are simple instructions for how to retrieve a travel bug. On the cache page on the app, click on trackables. Pick the trackable you're taking with you. Click log trackable. Type in trackable number from tag. Click retrieve and type in a message if you want and then hit post.
To drop a travel bug; on the cache page of the cache where you want to leave the travel bug, click on trackables. In your inventory, click on the travel bug that you want to leave. Click drop, leave a message if you want to and hit post.
