Let me introduce you to Darrels Hill.
The road west of Ritchie Rd on the dirt trail was known to us only as Darrels hill back in the mid to late 80's. We rode down this hill on sleds and sometimes crossed Hubbard lake road in the winter with Impunity, sometimes we would fail, and crash before even making it to the road. At this location, there used to be a "Curve" in the the road leading Ritchie Rd north on Hubbard lake, and making it a seamless transititon. It has since been removed and now is gone and replaced with a stop sign. As a kid I remember this curve and the endless bike rides around it. We would navigate knowing who owned what property, or by a landmark, such as the "Brothers" house or the "pond", or even "Hans", the swedish guy who lived down the road and came to borrow water. I hope you enjoy this cache.... so many memories growing up here......
We lived at 1449 N Hubbard Lake Road, a house built by my father and never competed, just around the corner.
