Fun Fact #1: According to a local geocacher, there has NEVER been a geocaching event in Lincolnton. Time to make history and change that.
The Greater Charlotte Geocaching Group has been hostng monthly events at various BBQ restaurants in and around the greater Charlotte area for some time now. We have sampled some great food, told a lot of caching stories and lies, met some great people, and made new friends. For the month of August, let's meet at the aforementioned coordinates on Saturday August 5th, between 2:30-4:00pm, enjoy some delicious BBQ, and tell even more stories and lies. Even if you're not a fan of BBQ (gasp) there are other items on the menu that should satisfy most anyone's taste.
NOTE #1: There is no purchase necessary to attend the event.
NOTE #2: Cash is strongly recommended as they just started taking credit and debit cards, and there is an extra charge if you use one. Cash is still king out here in the hinterlands.
NOTE #3: All geocachers are invited, Young or old, new or veteran, we love to meet everyone. Come make some new friends and caching buddies.

Fun Fact #2: This area used to be called 'Boger City' and there are still businesses that use that name in the vicinity. According to the almighty Wikipedia, Boger City was erroneously listed as a census designated place during the 2000 census even though it was annexed by Lincolnton in 1986. Let's raise a glass of sweet tea and hoist a hushpuppy or two in memory of this former town while we enjoy some great 'cue and conversation.
