V Nové Pace vznikl unikátní paleopark s naučnou stezkou, který připomene význačné geologické dědictví oblasti a zároveň nabídne zajímavé aktivity, které návštěvníci prožijí na vlastní kůži. Od 1.6. 2024 je otevřeno pro veřejnost.

Paleopark Balka má podobu areálu s návštěvnickým centrem a venkovní expozici s nejrůznějšími artefakty a zkameněliny. Návštěvníci si spoustu aktivit mohou vyzkoušet na vlastní kůži, například jaké to je rýžovat zlato, jak se získávaly české granáty a prostor bude i pro ukázku zpracování achátů.
Od náměstí vede naučná stezka do osady V Balkách, proslavené nálezy zkamenělých rostlin. Na stezce je celkem 15 zastavení, která budou mít historickou návaznost – turisté budou putovat od starohor po čtvrtohory, informační tabule budou zaměřeny na geologický vývoj. Stezka zavede návštěvníky až do Paleoparku.

Jak na kes?
V hlavnim arealu paleoparku odectete tyto indicie:
- Pocet hlavních naucnych zastaveni uvnitr uzavreneho trojuhelnikoveho arelu primo na Balkach (cili nikoliv po ceste z mesta a NEpocitam tri velke tabule na drevenych sloupech) = A
- Pocet stromu na obou dvoranach hlavni budovy = B
- Pocet Zahavcu (meduz) na prave plastice (ze dvou) ve velke dvorane = C
Finalka je umistena na okraji naseho pozemku (nikoliv pozemku paleoparku), takze se nemusite stydet odlovit:

A unique palaeopark with an educational trail has been created in Nová Paka, which will remind visitors of the region's significant geological heritage and at the same time offer interesting activities that visitors will experience first-hand. It is open to the public from 1 June 2024.

The Balka Paleopark takes the form of a complex with a visitor centre and an outdoor exhibition with a variety of artefacts and fossils. Visitors can try out many activities for themselves, such as what it is like to pan for gold, how Bohemian garnets were obtained and there will also be space for a demonstration of agate processing.
A nature trail leads from the square to the settlement of V Balkách, famous for the discovery of fossilised plants. The trail has a total of 15 stops, which will have a historical continuity - hikers will travel from the ancient mountains to the Quaternary, information boards will focus on the geological development. The trail will take visitors all the way to the Paleopark.

How to find the cache?
In the main area of the paleopark you will find the following clues:
- The number of educational stops inside the triangle shaped complex at Balka (not on the way from town and NOT counting big board on wooden columns) = A
- Number of trees on both courtyards of the main building together = B
- Number of Zahavec (jellyfish) on the right sculpture (of two) in the great courtyard = C
The final is located on the edge of our property (not the edge of Paleopark), so you don't have to be ashamed to hunt:
