23rd KC Area Picnic Event - Wheel of Challenges Edition

Date: September 9th, 2023

Time: 1:30pm - 5:30pm

Location: Hidden Valley Sports Complex @ 6500 NW Valley View Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015

Activities Schedule *Subject to changes

[ 9:00 am] - Pre-Picnic CITO @ GCACGCZ

[ 1:30pm ] - Raffles Table and Silent Auction will open

[ 2:00pm ] - Picnic Meal

[ 3:00pm ] - Ammo Can Piñata

[ 3:30pm ] - Wheel of Prizes (Open until 4pm OR until last prize is drawn, whichever comes first)

[ 4:00pm ] - Silent Auction closes

[ 4:00pm ] - Geo-Bingo Winners picked 

[ 4:30pm ] - Raffle Winners and Silent Auction Winners announced

[ 5:15pm ] - Water Blaster Mob (Participation Optional. Bring your own Water blaster)

Other non-time specific activities will include a Trackables table, "Put the antenna on Signal", Geo-Bingo, Corn hole and Kid Caches.

Food & Drinks

We will be providing hotdogs and hamburgers. Please bring some sides to share with everyone, and your drink(s) of choice if you would like to have something other than water. We will povide a few cases of bottled water.

Amenities

As mentioned, this event will be held at the "Hidden Valley Sports Complex", This facility has sports fields, playground areas, bathrooms, and plenty of walking areas. Feel free to wander around, use the available accomodations, and maybe go hunt for some nearby caches! Just remember to be back at GZ at 1:30pm in order to have your name added to the raffle.

** PenguinK1ng will be releasing an Adventure Lab the morning of the event that can be completed within the park. A special commemorative Picnic cache will also be released on that day. More details on that to come soon.

Raffles & Wheel of Prizes

Each attending Geocacher will be automatically entered into the Raffle. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased should you want more chances to win. Additional tickets will be sold for $1/each or $5 for 6 tickets. Wheel of Prizes tickets will be sold for $1 per spin. The money collected will help offset the costs of this and future picnics. 

At this time we will be accepting donations for prizes and taking in volunteers who might want to help out with the food/trackables table. Please contact Maerisheep or PenguinK1ng via PM or Email if you would like to help in any way. 

Please post your "Will Attend" logs so that we can get an idea on the headcount and so that you will get notified of any changes made to the event. 

With that said, let's have some fun with the awesome community we have created! Invite all your local and non-local Geocaching friends and maybe that one muggle friend that has been on the fence about joining the game.  

Commemorative Coins

We will have 70 commemorative wooden coins for sale at the event. Price for each will be $2. Proceeds will go towards the event fund for next years' picnic. If you would like to secure one, as we will only have a small number available, make sure to get them as early as possible from the tickets table.
