Postmaster Park is next to the Gambier Post Office, a Colonial Revival structure. The park is maintained by local village volunteers.

Inside is an oil-on-canvas mural “Bishop P. Chase Selects Site of Kenyon College” that was commissioned by the federal Treasury Section of Fine Arts and painted by  Kenyon art professor Norris Rambling.
The work was installed in the historic Gambier post office in 1943. Postmaster Danna Bosche petioned for and received a grant to have the mural restored. After three months, the restoration was complete and it made its debut in April 2010 at its original location where it is still visible today.

Next to the mural you will find a description by Thomas B. Greenslade of how the mural came to portray, but not quite accurately, the beginning of Kenyon College .

Congratulations to mbosche09 on her first FTF!
