The Victoria Clock Tower was built to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897 and was officially 'opened' at a ceremony attended by the mayor, local dignitaries, a brass band and a large crowd of Ripon's citizens in 1898. The building of the clock tower was entirely funded by two sisters, the Misses Cross.
This cache is not actually located on the clock tower, but across the road in a much safer area away from traffic. There are picnic benches and a grassy area for geokids to play.
