Piscataquog River View
This cache is one of four new short multi-caches on the Goffstown Rail Trail near Moose Club Park Road. The round trip walk from the parking area to the final of this cache is about half a mile, with nearly all of that distance being on the wide, level rail trail.
At the posted coordinates is a bench with a nice view of a wide section of the Piscataquog River where you can take a rest while determining the coordinates for the final cache. On a hot summer day, you are likely to see people out on the river staying cool by swimming or boating. To determine the coordinates for the final, you need only to count the number of slats in the bench (including both the seat and the backrest).
- 5 slats: N 43° 0.250' W 71° 31.093'
- 6 slats: N 43° 0.239' W 71° 31.075'
- 7 slats: N 43° 0.228' W 71° 31.056'
- 8 slats: N 43° 0.224' W 71° 31.037'
We thought about calling this "The Cache That Hid Itself" as when Mr. Seeker was scouting possible locations for the final, he came across an old lost Nalgene bottle. He thought, "Hey, this could be a water-tight cache container!" So, we cleaned out the bottle and used it for this cache. We did move the bottle about 25 feet from where we found it for the hide of this cache.
We hope you enjoy this new series of multi-caches. If you enjoyed the experience, please consider leaving a favorite point!
