Join Washington area geocachers every First Wednesday (ish) of each month. We'll talk about Geocaching, upcoming events, solve puzzles, trade bugs & coins and share stories from the field. The dog days or dog days of summer are the hot, sultry days of summer. They were historically the period following the heliacal rising of the star system Sirius (known colloquially as the "Dog Star"), which Hellenistic astrology connected with heat, drought, sudden thunderstorms, lethargy, fever, mad dogs, and bad luck. Dogs are however welcome at this event.
All are welcome to this family friendly event. It doesn't matter if you have found 50, 1000 or even 0 geocaches, we typically have attendees of all experience levels. We love to see people who are new to geocaching and looking to further explore their new-found hobby. We also enjoy meeting out-of-town geocachers who happen to be in the area, don't feel like this is locals only. If you're in town visiting family or on business, please join us!
August's event will be held at Babycat Brewery in Kensington. Alcoholic beverages are available on tap for purchase as well as bottled non-alcoholic beverages. Hot and cold sandwiches and entrees are available for purchase as well at the deli before you enter the Brewery Driveway. This is an outdoor event look for a gathering on one of the tables out front.
The event location asks you do not park in the driveway behind the stripmall that leads to Babycat, park in front by the deli, on the street, at the US post office or at the Kensington MARC station nearby.
