Geocaching "grew up" with the Harry Potter phenomonon, thus those among us without the magical knowledge of geocaching are known as muggles. In the series of books the concept of the animagus, one that could assume the form of an animal, was popularized and inserted into several key plot points along the way. This trait is known to the native Navajo as yee naaldlooshii , which translates to "by means of it, it goes on all fours". Today we call them Skin-Walkers: witches or worlocks that represent the antithesis of Navajo cultural values. Animals associated with witchcraft usually include tricksters such as the coyote; however, it may include other creatures, usually those associated with death or bad omens. They might also possess living animals or people and walk around in their bodies.
More modern interpretations of skin-walkers are closely associated with unusual electromagnetic anomolies and pruported UFO activity, and have had their fair share of conspiracy theories added to an already farcical story. While there has been no solid evidence either way concerning any of these outlandish claims, the cryptid nature of the skin-walkers legend endures in much the same way as the yeti, sasquatch, and every lake claiming to have a "Nessie" prowling its depths.
