Un Peu d'Histoire de cette Mascotte de l'Aérodrome:

[FR]Le Dassault MD.311-312-315 Flamant est un avion militaire de liaison et d'entraînement développé par Dassault Aviation à la fin des années 1940. Il a été construit à 325 exemplaires, en service dans l'Armée de l'air française jusqu'en 1982, et également utilisé par quatre pays étrangers.
À la demande de l'État, la production des avions de série est répartie de la façon suivante :
* fuselage à Toulouse par la SNCASE ;
* ailes à Rochefort par la SNCASO ;
* plans centraux à Bourges par la SNCAN ;
* empennages, ailerons et volets à Puteaux par Morane-Saulnier.
Enfin, à Talence, Dassault prend en charge la coordination, l'assemblage général, la mise au point, les essais en vol et la livraison.
Le premier MD.315 (Flamant I) de série est réceptionné par l'Armée de l'air française le 27 février 1949. Cette version initiale est suivie par d'autres variantes :
* le MB.312 (Flamant II), à double commande pour l'entraînement au pilotage, qui fait son premier vol le 27 avril 1950 ;
* le MB.311 (Flamant III), avec un nez vitré pour l'entraînement à la navigation et au bombardement, qui fait son premier vol le 29 mars 1948.
Les livraisons prennent fin en 1954. Mis en service officiellement en 1951, les Flamant seront utilisés par l'Armée de l'air française jusqu'en 1982.

Une plaque indique que "C'est en 1969 que ce Dassault 312 se pose en Ubaye, la piste d'atterrissage a 1 an. Il marque l'entrée de la vallée de l'Ubaye en arrivant à Barcelonnette".
Une fois réformé, l'appareil a été mis comme mascotte de l'aérodrome

Dans la vallée, avant d'arriver à Barcelonnette (sous préfecture des Alpes de Haute Provence), à Saint Pons, il faut quitter la D900 pour atteindre l'aérodrome.
