If a tree falls in the woods and goes ROOTS UP and nobody is around to hear it does it make a sound?

If a geocache is hidden at the base of said horizontal tree and no cachers are around to find it...is it really there?

If a geocache is in a UPS and not hidden in a winter friendly manner but the location of the cache is clearly visible in winter.  is it winter findable?
