Church Micro 1084...Ridgmont
This cache has been placed to bring you to All Saints' church in Ridgmont.
The cache is not within the church grounds, but you will need to enter the grounds to find the required information. Please be respectful when visiting the church.
.All Saints church was built to replace the original parish church at Segenhoe. However, the church at Segenhoe is still used to this day as the burial site for All Saints. This explains the absence of gravestones.
The church was built to the designs of George Gilbert Scott, largely at the expense of the Duke of Bedford and cost £4,390. The Church stands at the top of the hill and its beautiful spire dominates the landscape for miles around.
To find the cache you need to go to the exterior of the eastern end of the church. Here you will find an impressive foundation stone.
