[RO] Cutia a fost pusă cu ocazia eventului Geocaching în geoparc, ediţia a II-a Pe drumul vulcanilor.
Cutia este una intermediară, ascunsă în idea de a face drumul mai atractiv pentru un jucător de geocaching şi ne conduce pe alt car trail, unde la finalul său vom ajunge la rezerveţia ştiinţifică Tăul fără fund, Casa Vulcanilor, poteca lui Strâmbă Lemne şi la turnul medieval din Răchitova. Drumul este unul liniştit şi de pe acest drum se poate admira peisajul rural din Ţara Haţegului, fâneţe, câmpuri cultivate cu porumb sau cartofi, livezi cu pomi fructiferi. Bucuraţi-vă de linişte şi de privelişte şi nu uitaţi să vizitaţi atracţiile turistice din zonă!
În trecut, gospodăriile erau împrejmuite cu gard de nuiele acoperit cu paie şi cuprindeau casa, şura şi grajdul, cocina, uneori un şopron care adăpostea carul, sania şi alte unelte, dar şi un bordei care ţinea loc de beci. Casele localnicilor, așezate, de obicei, în fundul curţii, erau formate din două încăperi, camera de locuit şi cămara, cu intrări separate dintr-un târnaţ, plasat pe colţ în faţa cămării sau la faţada construcţiei. Locuinţele atrăgeau atenţia prin proporţiile lor, uneori acoperişul ajungând să fie mai înalt decât pereţii.
Casele vechi de peste un secol, clădite din lemn și acoperite cu paie ori șindrilă, sporesc farmecul oricăreia dintre cele mai pitorești localități din satele de munte. Timpul le-a testat trăinicia, transformându-le în adevărate case-muzeu, pe care călătorii le întâlnesc la tot pasul în așezările din Munții Poiana Ruscă, dar în Ţara Haţegului. În satele înconjurate de păduri seculare, lemnele au fost îndestulătoare pentru a găsi cele mai bune materiale pentru construirea caselor și a anexelor lor. Cele mai multe case din lemn au fost ridicate pe fundație din piatră, astfel casele rămânând călduroase într-un ţinut cu vreme aprigă iarna şi s-au păstrat mai bine.
Frumuseţea şi farmecul unor asemenea case nu poate trece neobservat şi ar trebui să ne facă pe toţi, să fim mai atenţi cu patrimoniu şi valorile noastre culturale şi în a ne păstra moştenirea primită de la străbuni.

The cache is an intermediate one, hidden in the idea of making the road more attractive for a geocaching player, and it leads us on another car trail, where at its end we will reach the scientific reserve Tăul fără fund, Casa Vulcanilor, the path of Strâmbă Lemne and the tower medieval from Răchitova. The road is quiet and from this road you can admire the rural landscape of Hațegului Country, hayfields, fields cultivated with corn or potatoes, orchards with fruit trees. Enjoy the silence and the view, and don't forget to visit the tourist attractions in the area!
In the past, the households were surrounded by a cane fence covered with straw and included the house, the farmhouse and the stable, the kitchen, sometimes a shed that housed the cart, the sledge and other tools, but also a barn that took the place of the wine cellar. The houses of the locals, usually located at the end of the yard, consisted of two rooms, the living room and the pantry, with separate entrances from a larder, placed on the corner in front of the pantry or at the facade of the building. The houses attracted attention by their proportions, sometimes the roof was higher than the walls.
Over a century old house, built of wood and covered with straw or shingles, add to the charm of any of the most picturesque mountain villages. Time has tested their durability, turning them into real museum houses, which travelers encounter at every turn in the settlements of Poiana Ruscă Mountains, but in Haţegului Country. In villages surrounded by centuries-old forests, wood was sufficient to find the best materials for building houses and their outbuildings. Most of the wooden houses were built on stone foundations, thus the houses remained warm in a land with severe winter weather and were better preserved.
The beauty and charm of such houses cannot go unnoticed and should make us all, to be more careful with our heritage and cultural values and to preserve our heritage received from our ancestors.
