It's time to celebrate all things Swedish... Let's fika...
Fika is often translated as "a coffee and a cake break", but it really is more than that...
Fika is a concept, a state of mind, an attitude and an important part of Swedish culture. Many Swedes consider it almost essential to make time for fika every day. It means making time for friends and colleagues to share a cup of coffee (or tea) and a little something to eat..
Fika is a ritual. Exactly what you eat during fika is not really important. The food is incidental to the companionship, the socialising and catching up with friends and colleagues.
You can never be to busy for fika....
So put down that Stieg Larsson book, throw on your best H&M outfit, pull the other half away from playing Minecraft, load up your ABBA playlist on Spotify and jump in the Volvo and make your way to the IKEA Logan cafeteria for fika...
