The Series
Welcome to The Teardrop, a series of 19 caches. Why is it called The Teardrop Series. Well, it's because on the map, it looks like a teardrop. No other reason.
The Route
Please Note > This route is NOT recommended in the wet season. The route floods in several places, namely near no.1 and no.18. Other sections of the route will be muddy. I therefore recommend this route is best walked between March and November. At other times you will need wellingtons or waders. During the summer season, although dry, parts of the route along the river may be slightly overgrown.
The walk can be done in either direction, it will not make any difference. However, if done in numerical order, then the slightly dangerous road crossing at waypoint 11, will allow you to see traffic in both directions.
You will see two gaps in the positioning of the caches. The first gap between numbers 11 and 12 is because of an existing Trad. The second larger gap between numbers 16 and 17, is because of three existing puzzle caches, those being American Sports 6, 7 and 8. If you have not solved these puzzles, and need some help, then please send me a message request.
Picnics and Benches
A lovely picnic spot can be found at no.18, overlooking the lake.
Parking
There are five parking options, given on this cache as waypoints. In the main, I have used options 1 and 4.
The Caches
There are 17 traditionals, one multi and one puzzle. The multi is a short one. The puzzle is a 'there and back' diversion from the main route. Two of the traditionals are direct replacements for two of the Counting Vowels series, which will now be archived. Please note, the route along the river is quite busy, so many of the caches are small tubes or film pots. Please hide them carefully, else I will be out replacing them too often.
Trackables
Only one possibility, at no.19, which will take small trackables.
Acknowledgements
My thanks go to my walking buddy GilDean, who once again, has helped with the placement of these caches. You will be glad to hear that none are at a height greater than five feet.
My thanks also go to the reviewers, without whom, none of this would be possible.
This Cache
You are looking for a camo film pot.
