“There is no path to happiness. Happiness is the path.”
- Siddhartha Gautama, a.k.a. the Buddha
Follow this geocache to Cham Shan Temple, one of the first Chinese Buddhist temples built in the GTA. Established in 1973, it was named in honour of Zhanshan Temple in Tsing Tao, China. The main teaching and principles of Cham Shan Temple are: promoting the dharma (the path of rightness), welcoming beginners to Buddhist teachings, and encouraging peace and happiness through wisdom, compassion, and enlightenment.
Like wisdom, compassion, & enlightenment, this geocache is not hard to find. If you stop for a moment and be still, you will find that it has been within your grasp all along. (A writing utensil, however, will not be in your grasp unless you BYOP!)
For those unfamiliar with this area, we encourage a visit - or return visit - around Chinese New Year, when the temple glows with the warm light of 100s of paper lanterns.
