SWAG Cache >> Here's Your Riddle👇
In the marshlands, past the rails, near GI-Joe the treasure prevails, the flying goose is your connection, to what you'll find under a golden direction.
A NEW, official Goose Island geocache is here! It was placed with locals and travelers in mind. Please be respectful and mindful of your many surroundings and replace the cache where you found it. Make memories, enjoy the swag (that pays homage to my first hide) and let it always remind you of the beauty we have here in the marshlands!
History
Goose Island is a county park island in the Mississippi River in the heart of the La Crosse District of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. The Root River empties into the Mississippi and creates a massive archipelago of islands. In 2018, high school students spent several days on the island, alongside professional archeologists, on an actual excavation discovering kinds of pottery and artifacts that would suggest they were from about 100 B.C. to 600 A.D. Goose Island is full of camping, water activites and much more!
