Wrinklers Beach at Scamander is a noted sanctuary for seabirds, including vulnerable species like the little tern, pied oystercatcher and hooded plover; plus all the usual species you would expect to find at a beach. It is part of the Scamander Conservation Area. It is a popular beach for bird watchers and those who want a walk along a lovely long beach.
The cache itself is a small camo container. It should not be too difficult to find, and requires no need to walk into the sandhills ( which are nesting sites); taking no more than a couple of steps from the path. I have listed the access as a 2 rating, as you will get your feet wet if you try to cross the river at very high tides - the bridge finishes short of the shore at each side.
No dogs are allowed on the beach, due to it being an important nesting area for birds.
