A famous John Muir quote is "In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” Muir believed in the intrinsic bond between humans and the natural world. Spending time in nature allows us to connect with something larger than ourselves, providing a sense of wonder, awe, and interconnectedness with all living beings. When we venture into nature with a curious and open mind, we often encounter surprises, such as witnessing rare wildlife, experiencing stunning landscapes, or having introspective moments that lead to personal growth.
Welcome to Fisherman’s Lake Parkway, one of the 223 parks and parkways in the City of Sacramento. Fisherman’s Lake is the natural lake that is south and west of the bike path and at one end runs parallel to the man-made Westshore Community Lake. The cache is located after a short walk on and then off the bike trail.
On any given day, walkers on this parkway will encounter geese, ducks, rabbits, squirrels, hawks, and even a coyote.
