Carburn Lagoon Float details:
We will meet Saturday, August 26th, from 9:30 am until 10:00 am on the lagoon at Carburn Park.
**Please note that there will be no ferry service offered since the event is on the water.
Please see the waypoints for parking, boat ramp and dock. At 9:55 am we will take a group photo and at 10:00 am we will return to shore.
PLEASE NOTE: Canoes, dinghies, and paddle boats are allowed - NO motorized boats. NO swimming.
Each person must wear a properly-fitting life jacket or personal flotation device and each watercraft must be equipped with a paddle.
Water safety kits are required on all types of watercraft, including kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, dinghies, inner tubes and rafts. These should include the following:
- Water bailing devices to remove water from inside the watercraft.
- A sound-signaling device (portable air horn, whistle, mechanical whistle or bell) to alert others of your approach, or in case of emergency.
- At least 15 metres of heaving rope, towing line or floating line (e.g. polypropylene) to help pull your watercraft to safety.
- Waterproof LED flashlight and SOS mirror to call or signal for help in an emergency.
