Easy park and grab, but not suitable for trailers or large RVs as there is little turn around space. Watch for barbed wire and please respect the private property marked by it. You are looking for a medium-sized camouflaged container.
Congratulations to WesternMoonCacher for the FTF!
From this vantage point you can see Belle Ayr coal mine to the north. It is an open-pit coal mine that is the 7th largest producer of high BTU coal in North America. It is also the oldest continuously running coal mine in the Powder River Basin, having been established in 1972. Since mining operations began, the mine has shipped over 574 million tons of coal to its customers. It has not always been this close to Highway 59, but as they follow the coal seam, it will slowly move in one direction or another. An interesting fact about coal mines in Wyoming is that they are required to reclaim/restore the land after their operations are finished with an area, and several tracts of land you passed on the way to get to this site were reclaimed. You can sometimes tell which is reclaimed by large stacks of rocks throughout the field, which locals sometimes call “Rabbit Apartments.” There are half a dozen other mines much like this one in the surrounding area, but this is the easiest to see from the road.
