The harbour in Hafnarfjörður is one of the busiest harbors in Iceland. You will see many small boats here, but also trawlers and, in summer, cruise ships from abroad. So it's a very lively and interesting place to visit.
The cache is located where the monument Kugelbak is. The monument is a gift from Cuxhaven in Germany, which is a twin town to Hafnarfjörður. The monument in Cuxhaven is made of steel while this one is made of timber, and 30 meters, made in the 17th century. It is the symbol of Cuxhaven. There is a small street near the harbour named in honor of Cuxhaven and every year Hafnarfjörður receives a giant christmas tree, put up in the center of town, as a gift. So the relations between the two harbour cities is quite strong and lively.
