Peter, also known as "the Marylebone mog" was a cat who lived at Lord's Cricket Ground in London from the year 1952 to the year 1964. He is the only animal to be given an obituary in the standard cricket reference book, Wisden Cricketers' Almanack. Lord's Cricket Ground, commonly known as Lord's is a cricket venue in St John's Wood, London. Named after its founder Thomas Lord it is owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and is the home of Middlesex County Cricket Club, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the European Cricket Council (ECC) and until August 2005 the International Cricket Council (ICC). Thomas Lord was an English professional cricketer who played first class cricket from the year 1787 to the year 1802. Thomas Lord was born on the date ABrd November CDEF.
