The Church
St Lawrence is a Norfolk round tower church situated beside the A149 Norwich to Stalham Road.
The church which is full of monuments to the Preston family who lived in nearby Beeston Hall. Memorials date from the 17th to 20th Centuries. The family paid for repairs and reroofing in 1803 which resulted in a birthday cake interior - white walls and ceiling with colourful shields along the cornice. A V2 rocket damaged the parapet and a stained glass window in 1945.
The church is usually open 24 hours a day so please do go inside and sign the visitors book.
There is no car park as such at the church but there is a small pull-in for 2-3 vehicles. The lack of parking maybe one of the reasons why the church has fallen out of regular use.
The Cache
This is a straightforward multi. The cache has been placed to be found.
First locate the headstone of Henry Edridge and his beloved wife Hetty. Take the year of Henry's death to be ABCD and his age to be EF. Similarly the year of Hetty's death is GHIJ and her age is KL. The final location is : N52 (I-D)(L+D-E).ID(H-A) E001 (A+G)f.BLJ. You are looking for a small screw topped tub with room for trackbables and swaps.
