The Glen Boree school operated from 1900 to 1929. There were many small single teacher schools operating in this area at one time, including Wookata, Coorabie and Fowlers Bay. Back then, farms were small family run holdings and Fowlers Bay was a thriving port. As farms amalgamated and Ceduna took over as the main port, the schools closed and by the 1950's Fowlers Bay was a ghost town.
