Do Not Enter When Flooded - Columbus Wash III
Washes flow all through Tucson. Water rolls off of streets and landscape, and into the lower lying areas that wind through our city. It's an opportunity to see how human-built habitat and natural spaces collide. This is the northwest section of the Columbus Wash just before it joins the Alvernon wash, and eventually empyties into the Rillito River. It provides habitat, shade, and migration routes to numerous fauna and flora. In this case, it flows in a channel and creates a natural street divider.
You don't need to enter the wash to find this cache, and you definitely shouldn't enter if there is water flowing. Be smart and safe!
