Geocache Description:

Interesting formations in the Santa Fe National Forest in the Jemez Mountains, altitude about 7500 feet.
The last 5 miles of driving is on dirt.

From San Ysidro take SR 4 north to SR 290 and go east on that road. The cache is located north of the town of Ponderosa beyond the Paliza camping area on Forest Road 10.
Park 1.9 miles beyond the point where FR 266 branches off (stay on FR 10).

CAUTION: There is a forest road gate which is locked during the winter. This gate is locked and unlocked on a fixed schedule, not depending on road conditions. Contact the USFS ranger station for current schedule if in doubt.

Park at the parking waypoint. Allow space for trucks to pass as there is an active pumice mine further up the road.

Go over the small ridge on the right side of the road to enter the Goblin Rocks area. There are many rock formations down the slope to the bottom of the canyon. This is a steep slope so remember, what you go down you must come back up. The cache is best approached by going across the fall line.
