honeychile: As someone has taken the ammo box, there's no point in setting up another to be taken as well. Archived. ::sigh::

Geocache Description:

Drawn to Caching

Finding this cache is nothing out of the ordinary.  The location and clues are pretty much what you've come to expect if you've found a few caches.  But the contents of the cache are a little different.

I've painted and framed a dozen little 5" x 7" sketches for those who seek out this cache.  I'm no artist, but I enjoy painting and doodling.  These little doodles are out of the ordinary because concealed somewhere within each painting is a cache.  Since you can't look under rocks or move branches in a painting, they are all in fairly obvious places (look behind the tree in the example shown) and will take you just a few seconds to locate.  But I'm hoping they will be unusual enough for you to enjoy somewhere in your home or to give to a geocaching friend.

I know that my sketches won't appeal to everyone, so I've also included some other items you might prefer to trade.  As far as trading goes, please feel free to bring and trade anything like any other cache.  If you happen to have sketches of your own you'd like to share, that would be great, but it is certainly not required.  If you are the one who takes the last framed sketch, please drop me an email so that I can start painting more!

I discovered this trail while trying to find YFTony's Beech Bluff cache and ended up on the wrong trail, across the lake (actually, it's a swamp at this point) from where I should've been!  From the map, the trail is part of the Bald Eagle Trail. From the website, "Bald Eagle Trail skirts the shores of Lake Higgins, providing beautiful scenery for hiking and mountain biking. This moderate hike offers opportunities to view unique waterfowl and possibly a bald eagle, the trail’s namesake. It is considered a semi-technical mountain bike ride by the trail sponsor, Greensboro Fat Tire Society, with its rooty sections and hairpin turns. The 1.3-mile loop on the western side of Lewiston Road is an added bonus."

Suggested parking is on Brass Eagle Loop. You will have to look carefully for the trailhead. The cache is in a very large ammo box; Please make sure the cache is shut securely and is well-hidden when you leave.  If there is any problem with the cache, please email me.

NOTE AND DISCLAIMER: This cache is hidden in the great outdoors. Welcome to the South!  We've got skeeters; we've got chiggers; we've got ticks; we've got ants; we've got snakes and other critters; we've got poison ivy, oak, and sumac; we've got mold and allergens; we've got kudzu and other pesky vines; and boy, have we got briars, brambles, and stickers!  Depending on the place you elect to enter the off-trail portion of the hunt, you may very well find these and other denizens of our environment. Please dress accordingly and take adequate precautions whenever you interact with nature. And don't forget to cache in, trash out.

Thank you for hunting my latest!
