(Parking Note: This is a busy road, and I'm listing a choice of 2 parking waypoints. One is on the same side of the road as the cemetery, but you'll have to be careful about backing out into traffic. The alternative is across the street in the parking lot of the former restaurant where you can drive straight out...but be careful crossing the road.)
I grew up in Bucksport, but never really knew about this cemetery until I began geocaching-- it is easy to miss while driving by. The cache container is a mid sized insulated thermos bottle. It is hidden in a method typical of geocachers. There is a chain to help with retrieving it, but you won't need to remove the chain from the cache or host. There's a lot of tree cover here in the summer-- give your GPS time to settle down, and the coords should be pretty close. The cache contains a Rite in the Rain log book, pen, and small swag. My goal is to get caches in as many cemeteries as possible in the greater Bucksport area. (PRC stands for Peaceful Rest Cache, and they are always near cemeteries.) According to Maine state law, cemeteries are only open to the public from dawn to dusk every day. Have fun!
