笠間市立東中学校は平成27年3月31日閉校しましたが、その後民間企業によりカフェやフィットネスジムなどを有する複合施設として、地域活性、振興の拠点として利用されています。スタッフに声を掛ければ、校内の見学も可能です。

駐車場を含めた施設の利用は10:00〜21:00ですが、キャッシュは敷地内にはありません。
