Congratulations to 99celing for FTF!
This well-kept cemetery on the Silver Lake "penninsula" is such a beautiful location for a geocache that I knew I had to find a way to hide one. I couldn't find a good place to put an ammo can, but the destination more than makes up for the micro. I usually park at the parking coordinates, but it's possible to drive closer. Here on this point there is a panoramic view of the lake and it is common to hear loons calling. Ducks and geese swim by, and you might see an eagle sitting in the trees waiting for its next fish meal. This lake is Bucksport's drinking water supply, so swimming is not permitted, but fishing and boating are allowed. Bring a fishing pole!
The cache is a well-camoflaged preform bottle with a fan-style Rite in the Rain log and pen. It is permanently attached to the host-- you will only need to remove the cover to sign the log. There are other caches in the area, plus a waypoint where you can walk down a very short path to view the nearby dam. Remember that by state law, cemeteries are only open from sunrise to sunset. Placed with permission from the Bucksport Town Manager. (Check the photo of the sign for more cemetery info.)
