This is a series of geocaches in The Glen area of Falkirk, which runs roughly East/West, and lies about a mile South of Falkirk town centre. It was never as heavily industrialised as the north of Falkirk but there are still some tell-tale signs of Falkirk's industrial past here, such as remains of The Callendar Brickworks near the B8028 road south to Shieldhill, and earthworks left over from Glenrigg Coal Mine. The topography of The Glen is that of a lower East/West strip that descends from Glen Village into the depression the Glen Burn runs along, before rising steeply to the Slamannan Plateau. Much of it is part of two large estates - The Callendar Estate and The Bespoke Estate.
There are several patches of woodland in The Glen, including Lionthorn Wood Park, Kilbean Woods, Fox Covert, Cleuch Plantation, and Easter Strip. Connecting them is a network of paths and roads, and regimented farm roads running NE/SW. The Glen Burn pretty much defines the middle of The Glen. The area has had some geocaches previously, although these have mostly now been archived.
The caches in this series can be done in any order and there is no suggested route round them. Parking places have been added as waypoints on the cache pages. For caches in Kilbean Woods, pay attention to the areas signposted as mountain bike trails, as these aren't suitable for walkers. Also, some of the caches have the 'livestock' attribute' but that is just to indicate cattle or sheep are nearby in adjacent fields, so dogs should be kept on a lead.

Glen Farm
North of the cache location is Glen Farm, which you should have seen if approaching the cache from the East. It's become the setting for an ice cream parlour run by the farm itself, and also has a children's play area for little cachers. Note that the farm road West from the ice cream parlour car park is a private road so there is no right of way there.
