Mayow Park originally known as Sydenham Recreation Ground is the borough's oldest park and is the second oldest public open space after Blackheath.
The site was owned by the Mayow family who owned most of the land between Sydenham Road and Perry Vale. The park opened in 1878.
Wynell Mayow (1753-1807) bought the 'Old House' at Sydenham for his country house in 1787 and took advantage of his position as a Chancery officer to buy up land cheaply.
Parking - available in the side streets, Silverdale, Mayow Road and Dacres Road.
Park is open from 8am to dusk.
