Geocache Description:

I stumbled across this spot en route to finding a cache hidden neaby. It was just crying out for a cache of it's own!

The village of Mynydd Llandygai at the edge of Eryri National Park is named for both the mountain and the Church pf the sixth century Saint Tegai.

The village lies at about 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level and gets strong winds and above average rainfall.  One of the key feature of the village are the two parallel rows of semi-detached quarrymen's cottages constructed during the 19th century for the slate workers in nearby Penrhyn Quarry. Each of the houses was provided with about an acre of land which was sufficient to produce enough food to feed the family.
