Located in the Pequest Wildlife Management Area. Park at the Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center. Entrances are available from U.S. 46 and Pequest Rd.
The Pequest WMA is more than 4000 acres of land providing a public place for outdoor recreation. It is a great place for hiking, fishing, bird watching, picnics with the family or getting lost with someone special. The Hatchery and Ed. Center are open daily (excluding holidays) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Hunting is allowed in the Pequest WMA, though not permitted on Sunday. During hunting season, it is strongly advised to wear highly visible clothing. There is evidence of recent hunting around the cache location. Please remember to hide the cache well to prevent accidental discovery.
Start out at the Hatchery and take the red trail across Pequest Rd. Continue up the hill and make a left onto the blue trail. The cache is an ammo can located only a few dozen feet off the blue trail. But remember, the most direct route is not always the best.
