After living in San Antonio for 18 years, I'm back living in New Braunfels. I had become fairly familiar with the San Antonio geocaching community. Now that I've moved north, I'd like to connect with local geocachers, put faces to the finder and CO names I've been seeing locally, and get the hard souviner for the month of August Wheel of Challenges.
For the month of August, cachers can earn both easy and hard Wheel of Challenge souviners by finding three and eight different geocache types, respectively, by September 3rd. One of those geocache types is of course an event geocache. There have been several events published in San Antonio, but none more locally. Here's your proximate opportunity for a last-chance local Wheel of Challenges event grab.
I'll be wearing my Ravenclaw cap and have trackables for discovery and unactivated trackables for all attendees. I'll also have some signature tags to pass out during the event, if you haven't already grabbed one in a cache. The event will take place outside in front of the establishment, weather permitting. Treats and beverages are available for purchase. The event is within walking distance of one of my favorite finds ever as well as my Adventure Lab, My Favorite Hometown Haunts. You can grab a few different geocache types near the event.
Looking forward to seeing old caching friends, making new ones, swapping tales, and all of the other wonderful goodness that geocaching events afford us. Cache on!
