You are on the Historic Highway 75 King of Trails Scenic Byway. Highway 75 was dubbed the "King of Trails" 90 years ago and the Minnesota portion stretches 414 miles along the western border.
This trail was originally used by the Indians and early Pioneers as a trade route. The present King of Trails does not follow the original trail exactly altho large segments of the highway do and the rest of the highway was constructed parallel to it.
The trail hosts the King of Trails Marketplace that extends much of the Byway every year on the second Saturday of September. Communities along the route participate by holding garage sales, bake sales, Farmers markets etc.
All the KOT caches are on sign posts along Highway 75 from Stephen to Hallock. Please be aware of traffic and park carefully when accessing the cache. There is short term parking on the shoulder.
You will be eligible for a specially made souvenir for completing this mini power trail, while supplies last. Message me if you are interested in one and I will get it to yo
