Lielie Kangari
Lielie Kangari ir lielākais osu grēda Latvijā, kas ietilpst tāda paša nosaukuma dabas liegumā.
Kangaru augstums svārstās no 10 līdz pat 27 metriem. Augstākais punkts sasniedz 72 metrus virs jūras līmeņa. Kopējais grēdas garums ir ap 26 kilometriem, bet pats augstākais posms, "Lielie Kangari" ir aptuveni 7 kilometrus garš.
Oss jeb kangars ir šaura, 5 līdz 10 m augsta un 0,1 līdz 10 km gara vaļņveida grēda ar stāvām nogāzēm, kas ir salīdzinoši rets kalnu grēdas veids. Osi ir veidojušies ledus laikmetā, ledāja kušanas pazemes tuneļos un ledāju kušanas ūdeņu straumēs, nosēžoties maziem nogulumiežiem, kā oļiem, grantīm un smiltīm.
Plastiskā plūsma un bazālā ledus kušana nosaka subglaciālā tuneļa izmēru un formu. Tas savukārt nosaka Osa formu, sastāvu un struktūru. Osi var pastāvēt kā viena plūsma vai būt daļa no atzarojuma sistēmas ar pieteku Osiem. Tie nav bieži sastopami kā nepārtraukti izciļņi, bet tiem ir spraugas, kas atdala tinumu segmentus. Osu grēdas parasti nav ļoti līdzenas un parasti ir mezglainas. Osi var būt platspārni vai asi cekulaini ar stāvām malām.
Starp Lielajiem Kangariem arī ir Kangaru ezers, kas ir ledāju kušanas ūdeņu erozijas iegultnes ezers, 5 hektārus plats. Izvietojies starpkāpu ieplakā ar vāju noteci ziemeļos no Lielo Kangaru purvā.
Lielos kangarus var izpētīt uz vietas, tur ir izveidota pastaigu un skata tornis, kur var labi izstaigāties un apskatīt, izbaudīt fenomenālos Lielos Kangarus.

Lielie kangari.
Lielie Kangari is the largest Esker ridge in Latvia, which is part of the nature reserve of the same name.
The height of the Kangari Eskers varies from 10 to 27 meters. The highest point reaches 72 meters above sea level. The total length of the ridge is about 26 kilometers, but the highest section, "Great Kangari" is about 7 kilometers long.
Esker or os is a narrow, 5 to 10 m high and 0.1 to 10 km long rampart ridge with steep slopes, which is a relatively rare type of mountain range. Ashes have formed during the Ice Age, in underground tunnels of glacial melt and in streams of glacial meltwater, by the deposition of small sedimentary rocks such as pebbles, gravel and sand.
Most eskers are argued to have formed within ice-walled tunnels by streams that flowed within and under glaciers. They tended to form around the time of the glacial maximum, when the glacier was slow and sluggish. After the retaining ice walls melted away, stream deposits remained as long winding ridges.
Plastic flow and melting of the basal ice determines the size and shape of the subglacial tunnel. This in turn determines the shape, composition and structure of an esker. Eskers may exist as a single channel, or may be part of a branching system with tributary eskers. They are not often found as continuous ridges, but have gaps that separate the winding segments. The ridge crests of eskers are not usually level for very long, and are generally knobby. Eskers may be broad-crested or sharp-crested with steep sides.
Also among the Lielie Kangari is Kangari Lake, a glacial meltwater erosion deposit lake, 5 hectares wide. Located in an interdune depression with weak drainage north of the Lielie Kangari Swamp.
The Lielie Knagari can be explored on site, there is a walking and viewing tower where you can walk around and see, enjoy the phenomenal Lielie Kangari.
