This cache is placed near a track I like to walk at Victoria Park. Heading along Latters Spur Track from the carpark you get some lovely views in different directions, there's some nice bush and it's even pretty flat. You can then choose from many tracks going uphill or downhill, or loop back around and do some of the Tawhairaunui Trail on your way back to the car if you just want a short, flat walk. There are several other geocaches in the area you can explore while you're here.
Update: I recently remembered that basic members don't have access to the trails map, so here's some more information on how to get to the cache to make sure people don't need to climb rocks or encounter difficult terrain which it sounds like some people have. Also, please REMEMBER TO SIGN THE LOGBOOK WITH YOUR GEOCACHING NAME. This is the most basic rule of the game and what is required to claim a find. The carpark you need to start from is marked as a waypoint on this geocache page, if you can't find waypoints don't worry, just go to the carpark near the playground. Go to the far corner of the carpark, to a sign that points to Latter's Spur track as the first option, folllowed by Summit Road, Eastside Bush track and a few others. You'll go down some steps. At the next sign turn right, then almost immediately turn right again. Both of these signs say Latters Spur Track on them. Follow this track until you are near the cache (probably around 10m), there are two little tracks or well worn paths up to the right, I take the second one and it leads right to the cache with no rocks or anything to climb. The whole track from the carpark is muddy and a bit slippery in the rain so do be careful but it shouldn't be too difficult.
Please be sure to rehide the cache well, this area is used by people doing the orienteering courses, and possibly others, so please make sure cache is invisible from every angle.
